Three-way pipe connection using two pipes - is formed by sending pressure mandrel down to first pipe bend to produce neck opening for fixing on second pipe.
A pressure mandrel (8) is inserted from one end into a pipe bend (1) until it adjoins the curved wall area. The pressure mandrel is then moved over its contact area with the pipe wall to produce an outwardly directed open neck (3) in the curved area. The mandrel is then withdrawn back out of the pipe bend. A second pipe section is then fitted onto the neck (3) of the first pipe to form the third pipe. Before forming the pipe neck in the first pipe bend a support mandrel (9) can be inserted into the other end which is not used for the pressure mandrel. Forming the neck can be in two stages wherein a hole is punched in the pipe after the first stage by separating off the tip of the initial curve formed in the first stage. Two of the three pipe sections are formed from one pipe. USE/ADVANTAGE - Simplified sealing connection of three-way pipe junction.
