Subscriber for a society line as well as a method for the construction of a connection between the subscribers of a society line

The connection system allows a speech connection to be provided between two telephone subscribers coupled to the same party line. The calling subscriber (BT1) provides a line request signal having a given reference level received by the called subscriber (BT2) to initiate the required damping compensation for the connection duration via the reception amplification. The called subscriber transmits a quitting signal having a second reference level used by the calling subscriber to initiate damping compensation by adjustment of the reception amplification. Pref. the reception amplification for both subscribers is reset automatically to its normal value when the connection between them is released.
