The valve (1) has a passage (3) for it in a housing (2). A plug (4) with tapering sealing faces (5) slides in the latter, and works against mating faces (8) on shutting. The passage has inlet and outlet unions (3a, 3b) at right angles and joined by an intermediate section (3c). The matching faces (8) are formed in the outlet union. The sealing and mating faces can include an angle of 5 to 15 deg. When shut, the plug can extend into the top part (10) of the housing and in which mating faces for it are also provided (8). When open, the plug can be completely outside the intermediate passage-section. USE/ADVANTAGE - Partic. for abrasive or corrosive fluids. Long life even under extreme conditions.
