Colour embossing method for image signals - transforming foreground colour difference signals into polar coordinate to provide colour transition between foreground and background

The embossing system method is applied to combine a background image signal with a foreground image signal, recorded via an embossing colour, with a transformation process allowing transition colours to be obtained between the colours of the foreground image signal and the background image signal. The colour difference signals (cr,cb) for the foreground image signal are converted into polar coordinate signals (L,W) within the proportional zones where the image signals overlap. Pref. the colour difference signals (crk,cbk) for the embossing colours are subtracted from the colour difference signals for the foreground image signal before their transformation into polar coordinates. ADVANTAGE - Provides colour transition between foreground and background colours.
