The sectional door or overhead sliding door is used to cover an opening in the side of a building. The door sections may consist of hollow profiles (10) which are hinged together. The hinges are offset from the centreline, on the inside of the curve of the door, so that on straight portions the sections butt together and on the curved portion the abutting edges separate. Projections (40) on the sides of the door sections engage with members (25) which have ring portions (26) engaging hinge pins (29). There may be bearings for guide rollers at the ends of th door sections, in line with the hinge pins. USE/ADVANTAGE - Simple construction of sliding or rolling door for garage.
