The new procedure is designed to be compatible with man and the environment and can be implemented by means of simple technological steps. Cellulose nitrate is to be recovered by the complete removal of the co-formulants contained in the drifting powder.$A Cellulose nitrate is converted by precipitation from an acetonic drifting powder solution into a precipitating agent which is able to dissolve the co-formulants and then wash the precipitated product with free from the excipients without residue. The isolated cellulose nitrate is used in the manufacture of colloidal wool, pyrotechnic articles,Explosives and propellants suitable.$A recovery of cellulose nitrate in the disposal of non-graphitized single-base drifting powder.
