Current limiting circuit for reactive load, e.g. in IC engine ignition control - adjusts maximum load current using controllable voltage divider with switching signal generated from microprocessor depending on system parameters
The circuit limits the load current (IL) flowing in a load current circuit using a microprocessor. The load current circuit includes a reactive load (ZL), a controllable switch (T1) and a shunt resistance (R5) and is supplied from a voltage source (UBatt). The circuit includes two comparator circuits (K1, K2) whose outputs form a current node which is connected to the control input of the switch. The maximum permissible load current can be adjusted by use of a controlled voltage divider. The corresponding switching signal is generated from the microprocessor depending on system parameters, e.g. temp. ADVANTAGE - Permits switching of maximum permissible load current using simple structure.
