The press tool and toolholder (17,17a) are attached to the ends of two spaced, parallel leaf springs (19,20) whose opposite ends are secured to the press frame. Over a short distance the tool executes a vertical straightline movement on the horizontal springs. The press tool and springs are guided between the two parallel side walls (2,3) of the press frame. A handlever (15) pivoted on the frame drives the tool through a link (28). ADVANTAGE - Simple, low-cost design providing accurate guidance of tool.
