Insulated heating wire and heating plate - has PTFE layer surrounding glass silk layer to prevent short circuiting when located in aluminium heating plate

A heating wire for location in the grooves of a heating plate has insulation (3) to prevent short circuits comprising a layer of glass silk (50) surrounded by a layer of 'Teflon' (RTM) (60). Also claimed is the aluminium heating plate which comprises a base plate with a lower insulation plate and an upper cover. The insulated heating wires are a tight fit in square section grooves in the base plate. USE/ADVANTAGE - The electrically insulated wire is for use with a heating plate in various types of heating equipment. The insulation is environmentally friendly, easy to produce and in combination with the heater plate prevents short circuits.
