The spreader is loaded with a large bale (9) to be reduced by a rotating profiled drum (7) and the separated fodder is thrown out of the machine via a rotating blower (4). A variable deflector (2) controls the direction of the fodder stream. One setting of the deflector lays the fodder along the ground. The spreader is mounted on a tractor hitch and is powered by the PTO. The bale is rotated via a chain floor (8). To lay the fodder on the ground the deflector is set fully downwards and a plate (6) under the blower is removed. USE/ADVANTAGE - A simple conversion sets the output of the large bale spreader either for spreading over the field or for laying along the ground, e.g. in sheds.
