The device (1) has fodder round bales (2) held on operating strands (3) of a conveying belt (4) during removal of totally or partly ensiled stem and/or leaf structure from the fodder round bales. The bales are mounted in a trough (5) of the operating strands of the conveyor belt during the removal of the ensiled stem and/or leaf structure from the fodder round bales and moved by revolving movement of the conveyor belt. The conveyor belt runs between two rolls (W1-W4) under formation of the trough.
