The multi-part joint frame comprises an inner shell (2) and outer shell (3) at a distance therefrom. The facing inner faces (10,14) of the two shells are set in the final assembly state at a sufficient distance to form an air gap (13). One or both facing inner faces preferably have a separating layer (11) of thermally insulating material which can be a fire protection plate made of eg. fibre silicate. The separating layer can be applied directly to the inner face of the relevant shell and fixed by rivets or screws. The position of the separating layers can be fixed in the end assembly position by spacer fixers (12) partially bridging the air gap and adjoining the side faces of the separating layers remote from the inner faces of the shells.
