The damper, which has a vulcanised rubber torsional spring element, originates from a single metal component. Embodied in the component is an inertial ring (2) with an inner flange (9), and a central boss (1) with an outer flange (5) concentric with the inner flange. The two flanges are joined by an end wall (11). In the cavity (10) between the flanges is introduced the rubber mixture forming the torsional spring element (12). After vulcanisation the wall (11) is machined off to leave the damper in its completed form. ADVANTAGE - Simple, accurate and low-cost production method.
