A component is produced by bonding together at least two plastic mouldings in a two-part mould cavity, where the mould tools concerned can be opened or closed together. Both the two mouldings (at least) are produced in the one common mould, after which they are left in the one part of the mould but at different sections thereof. When the mould is opened by moving at least one of its parts the two mouldings there are positioned opposite each other in the direction of the axis of the mould. The mould is finally closed again to bring them together. The two part-mouldings are pref. connected by an elastomer. An air intake pipe for an i.c. engine, consisting of two parts with interlocking features for bonding together. A groove is made along the whole length at the joint parts and this is filled with a strip which bonds to the polymer concerned. The two parts are injection moulded at different areas of the one mould and in the one operation. ADVANTAGE - The process is simple and effective.
