Analysis of transcription patterns of gene or multigene families comprises (1) isolating RNA from the relevant organ, tissue, cell line or individual cell, and subjecting it to reverse transcription.(2) amplifying the cDNA using on labelled and on unlabelled primer, or primer sets; (3) stoping amplification before conversion of starting material is complete; (4) subjecting the DNA produced to restriction analysis.Also new are (1) DNA encoding murine protein tyrosine phosphatases MPTP-H2/70.15 and =H3/210 (sequences of 421 and 451 bases reproduced) and (2) recombinant MPTP. /70.15 and -H3/120 (sequences of 154 and 164 amino acids reproduced).
