Vertical conveyor for loading and unloading piece goods, esp. from and onto ships - has top and bottom conveyors and discharge units, and fingers fixed to pulleys and transition regions

The fingers (4) are moved into the transition area (12,13) of the conveyor and discharge unit (10,18,14). The transition area is formed by rubber chain conveyor belts (12,13) running parallel to the fingers. Between the belt conveyors are components braking the piece goods (16) and which are raised and lowered. Beneath the transition areas are deflectors (6,6') for pulleys (3) to which the fingers are attached. The bottom conveyor or discharge part (14) is formed by a movable, raised and lowered telescopic conveyor. ADVANTAGE - The goods are conveyed directly by the vertical conveyor which is turned by 360 degrees without an alteration of height.
