Removal of transient exothermic-combustible substances from contaminated soil

In a process and electrically-powered assembly to clean soil contaminated with transient exothermic-combustible substances, the novelty is that: the assembly has an air outlet which injects cleaning air into the contaminated soil, that air bearing contaminated air from the soil is removed by a suction pump that the contaminated air is delivered to a combustion engine which is linked to an electrical generator and that the electrical energy generated is used to power the electrically-powered assembly.The energy content of the contaminated air removed from the soil is regulated by the addition of fuel and/or oxygen depending upon the requirements of the engine in use.
