The pairs of rotors of the separate changing units (A-F) each have a roller possessing a first and second toothed wheel rim. A drive belt (25) goes around the toothed disc of the first rotor, and the first toothed wheel rim of the roller alternately, so that the toothed disc and first toothed wheel rim are driven by the drive belt in opposite rotational directions. A toothed belt goes around the toothed disc of the second rotor and the second toothed wheel rim of the roller. The pairs of rotors and rollers of the changing units are positioned alternately along a straight line (24). ADVANTAGE - The phase differences are reduced to a harmless amount by one of the pair of rotors being directly driven by the drive belt, and the other indirectly driven by a roller.
