Radioactive strontium 90 concn. determn. in body - using proportional detector to measure beta-radiation of yttrium daughter isotope in skull region only for high sensitivity at acceptable cost

Determn. of the 90Sr concn. in the body comprises detecting beta-radiation of the 90Y isotope with Emax = ca. 2.2 MeV, from the decay of 90Sr, directly and only in the skull region with proportional detector (s) of large area. ADVANTAGE - Very high sensitivity can be attained at acceptable technical cost.
