The rope (2) is attached at one end (C) to a holder (4) adjustable steplessly along a track, so as to vary movement amplitude and thus the rocking angle. Its other end (A) is held under tension by a return mechanism (3). The holder can be adjustable by a spindle with hand crank (13), and can travel along a straight track sloping upwards from the position at which amplitude is at the maximum. Alternatively, the track can be curved, and the return mechanism can be formed by a tension spring. USE/ADVANTAGE - For converting a turning movement into a pivot and traction movement. Provides for simplicity and low cost.
