Mirror drive for SLR camera - mirror mounted on lever attached to pivoting-shaft connected to shutter release and return mechanisms

A drive device for the mirror of a single lens reflex camera which can be moved from an observation to a film exposure position and back again has the drive device constructed with a lever carrying the mirror mounted on a shaft lying outside the entering ray path, but parallel to the optical axis. The shaft can pivot between two positions in which the mirror is positioned either for observation or exposure. An actuating device moves the lever between these two positions in connection with the shutter release. A return device returns the lever to the observation position when exposure is completed.
