The invention relates to a process for the preparation of mixtures of synthetic crystalline magadiite and oxygen-liberating salts, which is characterised in that 1 mol of sodium water glass having a molar ratio of SiO2:Na2O = 1:(0.25 to 0.5) is mixed with from 0.1 to 0.9 mol of a compound having a pH of less than 10.5 in molar aqueous concentration as neutralising agent and the mixture is heated for from 1 to 15 hours in the presence of magadiite seed crystals at temperatures of from 373 to 523 K, in particular from 423 to 463 K, in an autoclave and, after cooling, from 0.15 to 1.5 mol of hydrogen peroxide per 1 mol of sodium water glass used is added and from the reaction suspension the solid is isolated and the dissolved materials are isolated as dry substance.
