摘要
The lateral control of present-day hang-gliders having a floating keel tube is based, in addition to the lateral displacement of the pilot's weight, on the use of so-called sail control. However, this control is lost as the sail stress increases. The capability to realise a greater sail stress is desirable for flight performance reasons. The invention has the object of ensuring sail control even when the sail stress is increased in the case of conventionally constructed or cantilever construction hang-gliders and ultralight aircraft (trikes). To this end, the lateral lower bracing means are not firmly connected at their outer ends to the transverse tubes, as is normal, but are guided back via deflection means into the keel tube region and are fastened there in such a manner that the difference between their cable forces (left/right lower bracing means) is introduced into the sail. Using this design, in the case of a lateral control movement by the pilot, the force which displaces the keel tube (sail) is more than doubled. A quite considerable sail control effect is thus obtained even in the case of relatively high sail stresses. The structural concept of the present-day gliders is in this case essentially maintained.
