A description is given of a detection method for an inaminate object with dynamic properties below a floor area on the basis of evaluating the frequency spectrum of microwave radiation irradiated into the floor area and reflected from the structure. In the method, the evaluation is performed with respect to a frequency spectrum which is modulated onto the reflected microwave radiation by means of mechanical vibrating processes inside the structure. This method renders possible a simplified identification of, for example, subterranean pipelines or water courses. IMAGE
