The lifting frame (1) has several, pref. four foot supports (4), in which upwardly movable bearer supports (5) connected with the bed frame (2) are provided. For each bearer support a separate drive (10,11,8) is provided, and each bearer support is connected with the bed frame via links (12) with pivot axes (13,14) parallel to the edges of the bed frame. A control is provided for all the separate drives (10,11,8), with which the drive is individually, in pairs or totally controlled. Each separate drive (10,11,8) consists of an electric motor (10), giving a total of four electric motors, and via the control the four motors are controllable in pairs on the long side and/or the narrow side of the bed. USE/ADVANTAGE - The hospital bed is adjustable in head and leg deep positions and also in a side cross position.
