The fixture has upper and lower halves (4,6), each with a semi-cylindrical recess (10,12), together co-operating to provide a cylindrical bore (13) in which the steering element is clamped via a sliding clamping block (8) in the lower half (4) of the fixture. Pref. the clamping block fits in a seating in the lower half of the side of the semi-cylindrical recess and is displaced radially via a threaded clamping screw, fitting in a tubular projection (28) which is threaded at the opposite end for fixing to the front wheel fork.
