Different types of photoreceptor unit (4a, 4b) can be inserted into and withdrawn from a printing module (3) fitted into the frame (2) of the basic machine (1). The printing module itself consists of a printing frame unit with a cylindrical recess for the photoreceptor unit, a development unit and a cleaning unit. Possible alternative photoreceptor units include a winding-up unit, a clamping unit and a drum unit. A mechanical or electrical interface may comprise a removable force or signal transmission device. ADVANTAGE - Appts. having different printing speeds or capacities can be grouped into different model series without increase in mfg. costs.
