PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently regenerate a used electrophotographic photoreceptor with decreased wastes.;SOLUTION: The method of regenerating the electrophotographic photoreceptor having a surface protective layer has a heating process step S1 for heating the photoreceptor to a glass transition point of a charge transfer layer or above and holding the photoreceptor for prescribed time, a cooling process step S2 for cooling the photoreceptor down to a prescribed temperature or below after the end of the heating process step S1, a peeling state S3 for peeling the surface protective layer after the cooling, a cleaning process step S4 for cleaning the electrophotographic photoreceptor after the peeling by an organic solvent, and a regenerating process step S5 for remaking the surface protective layer to the cleaned electrophotographic photoreceptor.
