Solid-electrolyte capacitor with built-in fusible element - has element pressed against metallised cathode connection wall of capacitor element by resilience of external cathode line termination

The capacitor has, from one side of an element (1) of e.g. sintered Ta, an internal anode line (2) extends into contact with an external anode line (3). A fusible strip (5) is installed between a cathode connection wall (4) of Ag or similar film on top of the element and a junction (9) with an external cathode line (6). The junction is made at the top of an upturned springy termination (7) of L- or V-section so that the fusible strip is pressed against the element. ADVANTAGE - Enlarged capacitor element can be accommodated without any change in size of encapsulation.
