The cpds. are based on a natural rubber component, esp. viscosity stabilised natural rubber component, esp. viscosity stabilised natural rubber, together with 3-15 wt.% of a polyoctenamer with high trans component and conventional ingredients such as fillers, plasticisers, anti-ageing agents, crosslinking agents, ZnO, and opt. other additives. USE/ADVANTAGE - The compsns. are esp. useful for making moulded rubber articles and composite articles of rubber and metal and/or plastics, esp. for rubber spring units for use in traction coupling hooks used as coupling between passenger coaches, goods wagon and the locomotive of railway trains and other rail transport vehicles. Railway rolling stock couplings made from the new rubber compsns. give a smooth transmission of power from the locomotive to the individual units of rolling stock during start-up and good absorption of shock to give good transport conditions for railway personnel, passengers and fragile freight.
