Method of reducing the mercury emissions in combustion plants with wet flue gas purification processes

The method is suitable for purifying the exhaust gases in domestic refuse or special waste incineration plants. Underlying the method is the assertion that mercury emissions from the furnace occur abruptly. In the course of flue gas purification mercury-containing scrubbing water fractions and scrubbing water residue can be separated off in a technically simple manner which can lead to a considerable reduction of the mercury emissions.
