A method for the transport of a set (1) of at least two yarn bobbins (1.1, 1.2) to a twisting machine and a device for carrying out the method. The yarn ends of the yarn bobbins are arranged inside the bobbin cores before the transport operation. The yarn bobbins (1.1, 1.2) are slipped onto a common tubular bobbin transport adaptor (2) which has at its upper end a gripping head (2.1) for attaching a bobbin gripper and/or the transport device of a conveyor system. The yarn ends F1 and F2 are then arranged inside the bobbin transport adaptor (2) and retained there during the entire transport operation until insertion into the spindle of the twisting machine. After the insertion of the bobbin set (1) into the spindle, a run-off head for the run-in of the yarns is attached to the bobbin transport adaptor and the yarn ends are guided through this run-off head into the spindle.
