The invention relates to purified antibodies specifically directed against the lipopolysaccharides (LPS) of gram negative bacteria. Said antibodies are characterized in that they are obtained in a single step, with an enrichment factor greater than 500 and preferably greater than 750, by immunoaffinity chromatography of the anti-LPS antibodies present in biological liquids which binds said antibodies to the LPS antibodies immobilized on a support. The invention also relates to pharmaceutical compositions containing said antibodies.
