Process and device for treating a liquid effluent originating from an industrial plant such as a nuclear power station, with a view to its removal

A liquid effluent stream in divided form is placed in contact with combustion gases at high temperature in a thermal reactor (41) so as to produce the evaporation of the effluent and the combustion of the noxious chemical species present in the effluent and to form a gas flow at high temperature containing solid chemical substances. The solid substances are separated from the gaseous flow in at least one separator (50, 61, 74) and the gaseous flow separated from the solid substances is discharged. The liquid effluent is heated and at least partly evaporated in an evaporator exchanger (55) by bringing this effluent into thermal contact with the gaseous flow at high temperature. A vapour slightly laden with noxious chemical substances and a concentrate are obtained. The vapour is condensed so as to obtain a condensate and noncondensible gases. These noncondensible gases are recycled into the combustion chamber for oxidation of the organic species. IMAGE
