The appts. comprises an enclosure (16) holding all or part of the sealed, airtight container (20). The enclosure is connected to a control circuit (9) monitored by a reference circuit (1) through a volumetric differential pressure sensor (2). The pressure in the enclosure is adjusted as required by a differential volumetric pump (101). The volumes of the two circuits are adjusted to be equal, maintaining the pressure in the container. USE/ADVANTAGE - Automatic control of airtight condition of sealed, possibly leaking, containers e.g. flexible or rigid , glass, plastic, porcelain or metal contg. eg air.
