The extrusion gun (3) is supported by a box (7), elastically mounted (9) to the tool body (8). The mountings allow movement and rotation on three coordinate axes, ensuring gun to body equilibrium during extrusion. The gun tip maintains contact through the extrusion to the work surface. The mountings may be cylindrical elastomer blocks, with ends joined to body and box respectively. A body stop may limit gun recoil, between body and support box, during extrusion.
