Water propulsion mechanism for test vehicle - has heated reservoir with saturated water with output nozzle at base protruding below and deflector input from reservoir

The propulsion mechanism includes the sealed reservoir (10) which is heated to produce a saturated water vapour mixture. This water vapour mixture is ejected through a conical shaped nozzle (22) at the back, and just below the reservoir. The nozzle is fed through the body of the reservoir, with a deflector (18) ensuring the maximum flow is maintained. The tube leading up to the nozzle (20) has a valve (24) which can be rapidly opened and closed by a servomechanism (26) to produce the desired velocity and acceleration profile for the test vehicle by varying the water vapour jet output. ADVANTAGE - Allows water/water vapour to be correctly fed through output nozzle for longer period whether fixed velocity or varying acceleration is needed.
