A protective strip arrangement consists of a horizontal support for fixing on a wall (1) with a vertical edge (3) for housing a waterproof joint, vertical masking strips (5) and fascia (6). A strip of foam (17) glued behind the vertical edge acts as a base for the waterproof joint. The support is of channel section, the upper flange having the hem, and the lower (11) stepped with two extensions (11,8), one forming a throat (11,11b) to receive an angle projection on back of the fascia for fixing. Tops and bottoms of fascia strips may be bent inwards. ADVANTAGE - Fixing screws masked to prevent corrosion, expansion slots allow temperature change movement.
