The clutch (7) consists of one disc (9) connected to a shaft motor (10), and a sliding disc (8) whose axial movement is controlled by hydraulic jacks (13) mounted in the flange (11) which is solid with the winch drum (3). This flange is mounted via bearings (22-24) to a bearing spindle (16) mounted on a bearing support plate (15) which is rigidly fixed to the framework of the winch. Inside this bearing spindle is a rotary fluid coupling (19) which feeds the hydraulic oil from the feed line (17) in the bearing support plate to channels in the rotating flange (21,21a) and then to the jacks. USE/ADVANTAGE - A compact hydraulic operated clutch unit for a drum winch associated with a winching cable for forestry work.
