Mail is processed through several sub-assemblies (1-6) which involve several steps in the preparation of a letter and determines the franking value and then on each letter stamps a franking mark. A central control display displays all the information from the sub-assemblies and allows an operator to control the sub-assemblies. The central display for control has a graphic display zone and displays a representation of all the graphic elements of the franking stamp that are printed on each letter. ADVANTAGE - Enables operator to simultaneously monitor insertion of documents and printed franking value.
