The device prevents unauthorised disablement of anti-theft protection fitted to the engine's valve gear. The rod (40) passes through the cylinder head (44) and projects upward into the armoured valve cover (36). The plunger is held in the casing by a locking mechanism (37,38,39). Forcible disturbance of the cover will disturb the rod, so that its head (45) or the soft seat (42) will be damaged, and it will not be possible to obtain enough combustion chamber pressure for the engine to run. USE/ADVANTAGE - Used in internal combustion engines of boats, vehicles, farm and construction machinery, with the advantage of preventing unauthorised start-up of engines.
