A process for manufacturing a sandwich type sound insulation panel (1) consists of arranging adhesive pads (4) the same thickness as the infilling (2) and pressing a minimum of two sheets (3) on the outside faces. The pads may be fitted on the outside sheets fitting in holes in the infilling. More than one sheet on each side of the infilling may be used. The infilling may be synthetic single or composite insulating material like wood fibre or fibreglass. USE/ADVANTAGES - Improved design good mechanical strength even using lightweight infilling.
