The invention provides a coating composition which comprises a resinous binder and optionally diluent and pigment and other ingredients normally found in coating compositions, characterised in that the resinous binder comprises: (A) a polyepoxide containing greater than 50 percent by weight of a diepoxide; (B) a urethane-containing polyacid curing agent having on average more than three carboxylic acid groups per molecule and an acid equivalent weight less than 500 formed from reacting: (i) a polyol component having at least three hydroxyl groups per molecule, (ii) a polyisocyanate, and (iii) an anhydride of a polycarboxylic acid. i
