PURPOSE:To improve control action while compactly form a link mechanism, by providing a synchromesh device shifted in an opposite direction to a reverse shaft by using the link mechanism. CONSTITUTION:A transmission provides an inverting lever 13, rotatably mounted to a shaft 16 fixed to a transmission case 1, between a reverse shift fork 9 and a fifth-speed shift fork shaft 11. The inverting lever 13, being slidably mounted to the shaft 16, is pressed by a coil spring 17 to an E ring 18 fixed to the shaft 16. And if a reverse fork shaft 7 starts a shift of the transmission in its reverse shift, the transmission, pressing a pin 14 of the inverting lever 13 by a groove 10 provided in the reverse shift fork 9 and rotating the inverting lever 13 around the shaft 16, moves a pin 15 in a reverse direction to the moving direction of the reverse fork shaft 7.
