PURPOSE:To facilitate the implementation by removing a temporary partitioning wall for construction after boring a succeeding shield tunnel from the slant direction to the wall provided at the branch and connection part of a leading shield tunnel to make meet them with each other. CONSTITUTION:A covering body 1 is installed by the assembly of segments according to the boring of a leading tunnel A. A flat plate-like segments are assembled at the connection part and a temporary partitioning board 2 is provided. Backing 3 such as low strength mortar or bubbled styrene is applied to the back of the wall 2, and backing filling 4 is applied thereon. A succeeding tunnel B is bored from the slant direction to the wall 2, and into the outer periphery of meeting part of the tunnels A, B, a supply pipe, freezing pipe 5 are inserted to improve the ground. After the removal of the wall 2, both tunnels A, B are connected. The construction cost can be saved accordingly.
