PURPOSE: To simply constitute a small-sized quipment at a low cost, concerning a monitoring/controlling system of frequency deviation amount of a laser beam frequency- modulated by input data. ;CONSTITUTION: An otical interference means 104 receives a laser beam 102, and ohtputs an interference light based on optical frequency discrimination characteristics. A light receiving meams 106 receives the interference light 103, and converts its light intensity to an electric signal 105. An operation point stabilizing means 107 receives tlae electric signal 105, and stabilizes the operation point of the laser beam 102 by a technique like synchronous detection, in the manner in which the operation point of the laser beam 102 is made to conincide with the light frequency corresponding with the maximum value or the minimum value of the optical frequency discrimination characteristics. Under the state that the above stabilizing control of the operatiopoint is performed, an optical frquency deviation amount stabilizing means 108 calculates the error value between the mean value of the light intensity obtained on the basis of the electric signal 105 from the light receiving means 106 and a specific value, and feeds back the error value to the modulation index of the laser beam 10.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO&Japio
