PURPOSE: To obtain a medicine capable of efficiently attracting Anomala albopilosa Hope by using (R,Z)-5-(1-octenyl)oxacyclopentan-2-one which is one kind of sex pheromone of Anomala cuprea Hope. ;CONSTITUTION: This attractant for Anomala albopilosa Hope contains (R,Z)-5-(1- octenyl)oxacyclopentan-2-one expressed by formula I as an active ingredient or further the compound expressed by formula I combined with (R,Z)-5-(1- decenyl)oxacyclopentan-2-one expressed by formula II as active ingredients. The attractant can be used to simply attract the Anomala albopilosa Hope damaging fruit trees, greening trees, rows of trees, hedges, etc. Furthermore, this attractant manifests excellent effects such that the damage by eating thereof can safely be controlled without any danger such as residual toxicity.
