Fire-resistant styrene resin composition and resistance to flame conversion medicine null for styrene resin

摘要

PURPOSE:To obtain the subject composition excellent in flame retardance without deteriorating dimensional stability and mechanical properties by blending styrene resin with a mixture of hexabromocyclododecane with a nuclear brominated styrene resin in a specific proportion. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition obtained by blending (A) 100 pts.wt. styrene resin with (B) 0.5-30 pts.wt. mixture of (i) 50-95wt.% hexabromocyclododecane with (ii) 5-50wt.% nuclear brominated styrene resin. Furthermore, 70-98 pts.wt. component (B) is homogeneously mixed with 2-30 pts.wt. styrene resin having =600000 molecular weight at a temperature above the melting temperature of the styrene resin and divided into small pieces to afford a flame retarding additive for the styrene resin.
