PURPOSE:To fabricate a standard specimen for oxide to be used in fluorescent X-ray quantification by accurately weighing a high pureness compound of the major component element constituting a high melting point inorganic compound, dissolving this high pureness compound in acids to provide a solution, adding a specified quantity of standard liquid of impurity element to be measured to this solution obtained, and heating in the specified temp. conditions after the solution is evaporated, dried, and solidified. CONSTITUTION:As high pureness compound of the major component element constituting a high melting point inorganic compound, metal titanium is used, for example to make quantitative determination of impurity elements in titanium compound. The high pureness compound is weighed precisely, and the major component element of this compound is dissolved in acids to prepare a certain necessary number of solutions, and thereto a standard liquid containing the same element as contained impurity element(s) is added in steps, for example at intervals 0, 5, 10, 15, 20ml to fabricate a series of standard specimens. Therein the standard liquid including impurity element(s) is added in the range that the concentration range of the impurity element in the oxide standard specimen lies within 1-2000ppm. This series of standard specimens for the solution are put in a crucible, evaporated, dried, and solidified, and heated to a certain temo., for example to 100-600 deg.C, at a speed of 100 deg.C/2h. Thus the series of oxide standard specimens are manufactured.
