PURPOSE: To make it possible to determine simply the elongation and strain of a test piece at a high temperature by computation. ;CONSTITUTION: The elongation 11 of a test piece 1 in a length l at the time when a load F is applied at a room temperature T is determined beforehand and the strain δ1 of the test piece 1 in the length L is determined by δ1=11/L. The test piece 1 in an arbitrary length H is heated by a heating device 2. The elongation 12 of the test piece 1 in the length L at the time when the load F is applied at a high temperature T' is determined, and when the elongation of the test piece 1 in the length H is assumed to be 13, the train δ2 of the test piece 1 in a length L-H at the high temperature T' is δ2=(12-13)/(L-H). Since δ1=δ2, 11/L=(12-13)/(L-H) is established and 13 can be determined by 13=12-(1-H/L)11.
